What we store
Your email address, a salted hash of your password, a licence key, and your subscription status. If you sign in from the macOS or iPhone app, we also store a hashed device token, the device name you gave it, and when it last checked in.
We never store your password itself, and we never see your card number.
Your voice and your text
Speech is transcribed on your own device by the macOS app. Your audio and your transcripts are not uploaded to us, and we cannot read them.
On iPhone, speech recognition also runs on your device. Audio and transcripts are not sent to WhispVoice servers. The finished transcript is stored temporarily in the app's shared App Group so the keyboard extension can hand it into the text field you chose.
On macOS, if you enable optional cloud AI cleanup, the transcript text you choose to send goes directly from your device to that provider under its terms. WhispVoice does not receive that text.
Payments
Card details are collected and held by Stripe, our payment processor. We receive only your subscription status, the last four digits, and billing country. See Stripe's privacy policy for how they handle payment data.
We email you about your account and your subscription. If you joined the mobile waitlist, we will email you once when that platform launches.
Deleting your data
Email us and we will delete your account, licence key, and device records. Stripe retains payment records for as long as tax and accounting law requires, which is outside our control.
